Doha, February 5 (QNA) - Qatari archer Reem Al Saie claimed two gold medals in recurve archery at the 8th Arab Women's Clubs Games 2026, currently hosted by the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation from Feb. 2-12, with the participation of 65 teams from 16 Arab countries across nine sports.
Al Saie, representing Qatar Shooting Club, secured her first gold after topping the individual qualification round, before adding a second gold by winning the individual elimination rounds, finishing ahead of the UAE's Maha Al Housani (Sharjah Women's Sports Club), while Huda Al Ali (Abu Dhabi Archery Club) took bronze.
Qatar was represented in the competition by Reem Al Saie, Aisha Al Saie, and Maha Abdulhai.
Vice President of Qatar Shooting Club Jassim Shaheen Al Sulaiti praised the achievement, describing it as a significant milestone that reinforces Qatar's standing in Arab archery. In remarks to QNA, he said Al Saie's double gold highlights her technical excellence and ability to perform under pressure in a highly competitive Arab sporting environment.
Al Sulaiti also commended the performances of the entire Qatari team and stressed that continued investment in women's sports and training programs, under the leadership of President of the Shooting Federation, Dr. Mishal Ibrahim Al Nasser, is yielding tangible results.
He concluded by lauding the tournament's organization and sportsmanship, affirming the federation's commitment to sustaining success in archery. (QNA)
