Israeli Offensive in Gaza: Death Toll Rises to 71,824, with 171,608 Wounded
Gaza, February 04 (QNA) - The toll from the Israeli occupation's military offensive in the Gaza Strip has risen to 71,824 killed and 171,608 wounded since the start of the offensive on Oct. 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza.
The ministry reported that hospitals in the enclave have heretofore received 21 fatalities and 38 injuries as a result of the Israeli recent shelling of multiple parts across the Gaza Strip.
On Tuesday, search operations for other casualties under bombed-out buildings were ceased due to depletion of essential fuel to operate the machinery in these operations, the ministry cautioned.
It pointed out that since reaching the ceasefire in October 2025, the fatality toll has soared to 556, while the toll of injuries has risen to 1,500, with 717 bodies being dug out from the rubble.
A ceasefire between the Hamas movement and the Israeli occupation entered into force last October following the withdrawal of the occupation forces from populated sites and areas in the enclave.
However, the Israeli assaults on Gaza and Gazans are still ongoing in a persistent breach of previous agreements. (QNA)
