Three People Killed in Landmine Explosion in Eastern Syria
Damascus, February 27 (QNA) - Three people were killed and another was injured when a landmine, left behind by the former regime, exploded under their vehicle in the Deir ez-Zor desert in eastern Syria.
Local sources reported that the explosion occurred while they were traveling in the area, killing three of them instantly and injuring another who was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Landmines and unexploded ordnance remain a major threat for Syrians, claiming the lives of dozens of civilians during the past year. Authorities continue demining operations to clear affected areas and improve civilian safety. (QNA)
