Qatar ExxonMobil Open: Russian Andrey Rublev Reaches Second Round
Doha, February 17 (QNA) - Russian Andrey Rublev, the defending champion, completed the lineup of players advancing to the second round of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, currently being held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
Rublev, ranked 14th in the world, secured a straight-sets victory over Dutch player Jesper de Jong, ranked 86th globally, winning 6-4, 6-3.
The Russian will face Hungarian Fábián Marozsán, ranked 48th in the world, on Wednesday in the second round of the tournament.
Belgian Zizou Bergs also advanced to the second round after defeating Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in three sets, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. He will meet Czech player Jiří Lehečka, who defeated American Jenson Brooksby in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. (QNA)
