Qatar Charity Distributes Food Baskets to Flood-Affected Families in Morocco
Doha, November 02 (QNA) - Qatar Charity has continued its humanitarian efforts to support families affected by floods and those most in need in Morocco. With support from generous donors, it carried out a food relief campaign in Tata Province, benefiting approximately 9,744 people.
The campaign distributed 1,392 food baskets to flood-affected families and those most in need, as part of Qatar Charity's efforts to ease the financial burden on affected households and strengthen their food security.
The project was implemented in coordination with local authorities, with organizational arrangements designed to ensure smooth distribution and the efficient delivery of assistance to eligible families.
The humanitarian initiative brought relief to beneficiaries, who extended their sincere thanks and appreciation to Qatar Charity for this assistance and said that this initiative has had a positive impact on them and helped ease their daily burdens.
Tata Province is among the areas at risk of flooding. In September 2024, the province experienced severe floods and flash floods that caused loss of life and property damage. Homes, roads, bridges, water and electricity networks, agricultural land, oases and local livelihoods were affected, increasing the vulnerability of several families and local communities. (QNA)
