Doha, November 02 (QNA) - The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, through its Department of Research and Islamic Studies, will hold the second seminar in its annual "In Clear Arabic" series on Nov. 10 at Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque.

The event convenes a distinguished array of researchers, academics and writers to explore ways to advance cultural incubators and promote the Arabic language, in pursuit of examining avenues for strengthening cultural incubators as instrumental platforms for advancing the Arabic language.

Director of Research and Islamic Studies Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Thani said the seminar will discuss this consequential subject through three key themes, with the first one delving into the role of cultural incubators in preserving and advancing the Arabic language, since they are mostly cherished, especially in mosques, schools, media and cultural enterprises, alongside scholarly circles.

The seminar will broadly highlight the historical and civilizational role of those incubators in caring for the Arabic language, as well as the experiences of linguistic progression and the nexus between language, identity and the impact of these incubators in creating collective linguistic awareness, he said.

The second theme, the Director noted, is laser-focused on challenges facing the Arabic language in its contemporary cultural theater and strives to find ample ways to address the foremost challenges that impair the effectiveness of those incubators, in terms of intellectual, social and educational causes, their impact on identity and belonging, and ways to withstand the cultural marginalization of language.

He added that the third theme will discuss putting forward practical perspectives and strategies to advance the Arabic language through strengthening integration among educational and cultural institutions and operationalizing the role of digital media and state-of-the-art platforms, in addition to encouraging scientific research in Arabic.

This seminar is a substantive contribution to a series of cultural events and projects the Department is undertaking, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed underlined, explaining that it is an annual event that aims to cherish the Arabic language for its high-profile standing and effectuate its role in society in terms of shaping identity and projecting its centrality in the sciences in general and Sharia sciences in particular, in addition to exploring its impact on achieving development and progress.

The event is based on the axiom that the Arabic language is the true civilizational and intellectual incubator for the nation through which the Holy Quran was revealed, and the noble Sunnah of the Prophet followed, laying the foundations for the flourishing of the sciences and the development of Islamic civilization, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed further stressed.

The inaugural seminar in the series was convened in November 2025 on the Arabic language: current and future prospects - toward cultural reconstruction and revitalizing the foundations of identity.

The Department is also compiling and publishing the outcomes of each seminar in a documented volume to enrich Arab and Islamic libraries. (QNA)
