QOC President Honors Qatari Riders, Members of Administrative Team at Asian Games
Nagoya, Japan, October 04 (QNA) - HE President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani honored Qatari riders Faleh Al Ajami and Bassem Mohammed at a ceremony held at Qatar House in Nagoya. The ceremony celebrated their achievements in the individual show jumping competition at the 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya 2026), where Al Ajami won gold and Mohammed claimed bronze.
The ceremony was attended by HE QOC First Vice President Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, HE QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, and several members of the Qatari delegation participating in the Games.
The riders earned their medals on the final day of the Games, with Al Ajami taking gold and Mohammed adding bronze in the individual show jumping competition, thus concluding Qatar's participation in the Games with two more medals..
The ceremony also recognized members of the Qatari delegation's administrative team for their efforts throughout the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games and their role in providing the teams and athletes with essential organizational and administrative support.
The Qatar House team was also honored for showcasing Qatari culture, heritage, and sport; welcoming guests and visitors; and organizing and hosting numerous events, meetings, and celebrations for the national team throughout the Games.
Qatar finished the Games with 18 medals—six gold, six silver, and six bronze—marking one of the country's strongest performances at the Asian Games. (QNA)
