Doha, October 30 (QNA) - Al Ahli held their own after a late equalizer from Al Shahania to win 2-1 in Week 8 of 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Khor Stadium on Friday.
It was Al Ahli's third win of the league and took their tally to 11 points, while Al Shahania remained on seven points.
After a goalless opening half, Ghanem Al Minhali had put Al Ahli ahead in the 57th minute with a powerful strike, taken from left just inside the box, but Abdoulaye Traore slid one through rival goalkeeper's legs to equalize for Al Shahania in the 85th minute.
Al Shahania's joy was, however, shortlived as two minutes later, Driss Fettouhi, lurking near the six-yard box, flicked in a superb floating assist from Benjamin Bourigeaud.
The win was Al Ahli's first under new coach Nebojsa Jovovic, who returned to The Brigadiers. (QNA)
