Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry Summons Iranian Ambassador, Hands Him Note of Protest
Kuwait City, October 28 (QNA) - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday summoned Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait Muhammad Tutunji and handed him a note of protest over a statement issued by the embassy of his country to Kuwait, branding it a brazen meddling in Kuwait's internal affairs and an affront to its sovereignty and the independence of its judiciary, which is openly antithetical to international laws and norms.
According to its statement, the Ministry reiterated Kuwait's strong rejection and denunciation of any interference in judicial rulings rendered by its national courts, stressing the importance of the Iranian side abiding by the provisions of international law and the UN Charter.
This includes the principles of good neighborliness, non-interference in the internal affairs of countries, as well as the provisions of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. (QNA)
