QFFD Advances Global Development Finance Agenda at World Investment Forum 2026
Doha, October 27 (QNA) - Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) concluded its participation in the ninth edition of the World Investment Forum (WIF 2026), held in Doha from 25 to 27 October under the theme "Investing in the Future", contributing to advancing the global development finance agenda, mobilising investment and strengthening international cooperation to accelerate sustainable development.
As part of the Forum, QFFD co-hosted a high-level ministerial roundtable titled "Partnerships, Investment and Trade: Advancing Sustainable Development and Prosperity in LDCs", alongside the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar in Geneva, the WTO's Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF), the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS), and UNCTAD.
The roundtable brought together government representatives and development partners to explore how investment, trade and development finance can be better aligned to advance economic transformation in Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
Discussions focused on mobilising capital, expanding access to development finance, strengthening productive capacities and fostering partnerships that support sustainable economic growth.
The dialogue also underscored the importance of accelerating the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action for LDCs ahead of its Midterm Review, scheduled to take place in Doha from 25 to 27 March 2027.
Beyond the roundtable, QFFD engaged in discussions across the Forum's programme on development finance, investment and international cooperation in addition to bilateral meetings to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation and stronger partnerships in support of sustainable development and economic growth.
QFFD's participation in WIF 2026 reflects the State of Qatar's continued commitment to international development cooperation and to advancing innovative financing approaches and strategic partnerships that mobilise resources, strengthen economic resilience and deliver sustainable development outcomes.
