FIFA Conducts Inspection Visits in Morocco, Portugal and Spain to Select 2030 World Cup Venues
Zurich, October 27 (QNA) - The FIFA has announced a series of venue inspection visits to Morocco, Portugal and Spain during November and December 2026, as part of the ongoing planning process for the FIFA World Cup 2030.
The FIFA delegation will include representatives from key operational areas, who will visit candidate cities and stadiums proposed to host the tournament in the three countries.
The visits mark an important stage in the venue selection process, enabling FIFA to assess the readiness of each candidate venue and review its operational plans and proposed tournament infrastructure.
During the visits, the delegation will hold meetings with representatives of local, regional and national authorities, stadium operators, transport authorities, hospitality and accommodation service providers, and other key delivery partners.
The delegation will visit the candidate host cities of Agadir, Barcelona, Bilbao, Casablanca, Fez, Las Palmas, Lisbon, Madrid, Marrakech, Porto, Rabat, San Sebastian, Seville, Tangier and Zaragoza.
FIFA said additional venues could also be visited during the selection process.
The visits aim to support the assessment of each candidate city and stadium against FIFA's hosting conditions and requirements.
They will also inform FIFA's decision-making process ahead of the final selection of venues for the FIFA World Cup 2030.
As part of the match schedule planning, the number and types of matches to be hosted by each stadium will be determined only after the host cities have been confirmed.
FIFA continues to work closely with all relevant stakeholders in Morocco, Portugal and Spain to advance preparations for the tournament. (QNA)
