Doha, October 26 (QNA) - Al Ahli have appointed Montenegrin coach Nebojsa Jovovic to lead their first football team, the club announced Monday, replacing Spaniard Borja Jiménez, whose contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

Jovovic will take charge of Al Ahli for the second time, having previously managed the team from December 2019 to September 2023, when he achieved solid results in the Qatar Stars League.

Jovovic has a varied coaching career across Arab football. His previous clubs include Jordan's Al Faisaly, Egypt's Zamalek, Iraq's Al Shorta, Tunisia's CS Sfaxien and the United Arab Emirates' Khor Fakkan, as well as Kuwait SC, his most recent coaching destination before returning to Doha.

Al Ahli are seventh in the Doha Bank Stars League standings with eight points after seven rounds. (QNA)
