Israeli Occupation Renews Administrative Detention Orders Against 21 Palestinian Prisoners
Ramallah, October 15 (QNA) - Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs announced on Thursday that Israeli occupation authorities have issued and renewed administrative detention orders against 21 Palestinian prisoners.
Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that these decisions, comprising both new orders and renewals, apply to 21 Palestinians for varying durations.
Administrative detention allows imprisonment without charge or trial, preventing detainees and their defense lawyers from accessing underlying evidence files. The policy violates international humanitarian law, with Israel remaining the only state that systematically employs the practice.
The occupation authorities justify these measures by citing "secret files" withheld from disclosure, leaving detainees imprisoned without knowing the grounds for their arrest or the duration of their confinement. (QNA)
