LoginQatar Central Bank, People's Bank of China Sign Agreement to Extend Local Currency Swap
Bangkok, October 14 (QNA) - HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani and HE Governor of the People's Bank of China (PBOC) Pan Gongsheng signed an agreement to extend the local currency swap arrangement between the two institutions. The signing took place on the sidelines of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from Oct. 12 to 18, 2026.
This marks the third extension of the agreement, which was originally signed in 2014 and extended in 2017 and 2021.
The agreement aims to boost trade and direct investment between the two countries. (QNA)
