AFC U-23 Asian Cup: Jordan Defeat Saudi Arabia, Vietnam Overcome Kyrgyzstan

Jeddah, January 9 (QNA) - Jordan defeated Saudi Arabia 3-2 in their match Friday at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the second round of Group A matches in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup being held in Saudi Arabia.

Ali Al Azaizeh scored twice for Jordan in the 38th and 45+1 minutes, while Mahmoud Kharouba added another in the 73rd minute. Rakan Al Ghamdi scored for Saudi Arabia in the 19th minute, and Musab Al Juwair converted a penalty in the 60th minute.

With this result, Jordan earned their first three points, placing them third in the group. Saudi Arabia remains in second place with three points, ahead of Jordan on goal difference.

In the other Group A match, Vietnam defeated Kyrgyzstan 2-1 at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

Vietnam's goals were scored by Quat Van Kang from a penalty in the 19th minute and an own goal by Kyrgyzstan's Kristian Brusman in the 87th minute, while Marlen Murzakhmatov scored Kyrgyzstan's lone goal in the 44th minute.

Vietnam now lead the group with 6 points from two matches, while Kyrgyzstan remain at the bottom with no points. (QNA)
