Al Arabi Defeat Al Ahli, Strengthen Lead in Basketball League

Doha, January 8 (QNA) - Al Arabi strengthened their lead in the Qatari Basketball League with a decisive 81-66 victory over Al Ahli in their match Thursday, part of the 13th round of the second division of the 2025-2026 season.

The scores for the four quarters were as follows: 33-12, 16-15, 19-22, and 13-17, all in favor of Al Arabi.

With this win, the defending champions, Al Arabi, reaffirmed their status as contenders for the top spot, having imposed their style of play from the outset.

Al Arabi now lead the standings with 24 points from 13 matches, one point ahead of Al Rayyan in second place with 23 points. Al Ahli remain in third place with 21 points, one point ahead of Al Sadd, who occupy fourth place with a game in hand.

In another match, Al Gharafa overcame Qatar SC with a score of 103-99 in a closely contested and exciting game.

The scores for the four quarters were as follows: 24-20, 33-23, 24-33, and 22-23, all in favor of Al Gharafa.

With this victory, Al Gharafa raised their points tally to 17, securing sixth place, while Qatar SC reached 15 points, remaining in eighth place.

The competition for positions is fierce as the decisive rounds approach.(QNA)
