Damascus, January 06 (QNA) - Three Syrian civilians, including two women, were killed, and several others, including two child girls, were wounded Tuesday as a result of shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the city of Aleppo, northern Syria.

The SDF hit residential buildings in the Al Midan neighborhood of Aleppo, killing three civilians and injuring others. Nine additional people sustained varying injuries when a separate projectile struck the Provincial Agriculture Directorate, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

Azzam Al Gharib, Governor of Aleppo, stated that the competent authorities and relevant forces are resolutely dealing with the sources of fire, emphasizing that necessary measures have been taken to stabilize the situation and ensure public security.

Al Gharib further clarified that SDF positions in the Al Ashrafiyah and Sheikh Maqsood neighborhoods are conducting indiscriminate shelling of the city.

A Syrian military source stated that the SDF launched drone attacks on Aleppo neighborhoods and Syrian Arab Army deployment points, killing one soldier and wounding three others on the perimeter of the Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood.

The source added that the Syrian military responded to these attacks by targeting numerous SDF strongholds in Aleppo, destroying ammunition and weapons depots in the Sheikh Maqsood and Al Ashrafiyah neighborhoods.

These offensives continued alongside a flare-up of violent clashes between the two parties, the source said, noting that access points to these two neighborhoods have been barricaded for security reasons, coinciding with a mass exodus of residents pending the full restoration of security across the area.
