Jeddah, January 6 (QNA) – The Spanish Super Cup football tournament kicks off tomorrow, Wednesday, and will continue until next Sunday at the Al Inma Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of four of Spain's top clubs.

Participating in the tournament are Barcelona, the Spanish League and Copa del Rey champions for the 2024-2025 season; Real Madrid, the Spanish League and Copa del Rey runners-up for the same season; Atlético Madrid, who finished third in La Liga; and Athletic Bilbao, who finished fourth.

Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao tomorrow, while Atlético Madrid will meet Real Madrid the day after tomorrow, Thursday, in two highly anticipated matches for the two qualifying spots in the final.

The tournament will be played in a knockout format, with the winners of tomorrow's and Thursday's matches advancing to the final scheduled for next Sunday.

This edition of the Spanish Super Cup is the sixth to be held in Saudi Arabia, which has hosted the previous five tournaments. Real Madrid has won three of those titles, while Barcelona has won two.

Barcelona hold the record for the most Spanish Super Cup titles, having won it 15 times. Real Madrid follow with 13 titles, then Athletic Bilbao and Deportivo La Coruña with three each, while Atlético Madrid had won it twice. (QNA)
