Chelsea Appoints Liam Rosenior as Head Coach Until 2032
London, January 06 (QNA) - Chelsea Football Club announced Tuesday the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach on a contract extending until 2032, succeeding the Italian Enzo Maresca.
Rosenior's appointment as first-team manager forms part of a strategic vision focused on coaching stability and building a squad capable of competing both domestically and in Europe over the long term, following a period of successive changes within the coaching staff, the club said in a statement.
The new 41-year-old coach expressed pride in taking up the position after arriving in London from RC Strasbourg in France.
Rosenior's playing career spanned the Premier League and the Championship, featuring stints with Fulham, Reading, Hull City, Brighton, and other clubs.
He began his managerial career in 2019 at Derby County, initially under Dutch coach Phillip Cocu, before serving as assistant to Wayne Rooney.
Chelsea currently sits fifth in the Premier League with 31 points and will face Fulham tomorrow in the 21st round of the competition. (QNA)
