Doha, January 06 (QNA) - Al Arabi will face Al Shamal on Wednesday in the second round of the men's volleyball general league match. All matches are being held at the Qatar Volleyball Association Hall, with 10 clubs participating.

Al Arabi enters the match with 15 points from 7 games, placing them fifth in the standings. They will be aiming for a win to advance to the top four.

Meanwhile, Al Shamal is in eighth place with 6 points from 8 games and is looking to finish the first round with a victory and move up the table.

In another match, Al Rayyan will meet league leaders Al Wakrah in what is expected to be a tough encounter. Al Rayyan, the defending champions, are eager to join the leading teams, currently sitting in sixth place with 13 points from 7 games.

Al Wakrah leads the standings with 22 points from 8 games, one point ahead of second-placed Police SC, who have played 9 games, and are 6 points ahead of fourth-placed Al Ahli, who have also played 9 games.

On the other hand, Police and Qatar teams will begin their matches in the 44th Arab Volleyball Championship, which kicks off in Tunisia this Thursday and continues until Jan. 18.

The Police team will face the Palestinian Forces team, while the Qatar team will meet Al-Seeb of Oman in the first round of the competition, which features 12 clubs divided into two groups. (QNA)
