Paris, January 5 (QNA) - The French Presidency announced Monday that the "Coalition of the Willing" summit, to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) in Paris, will bring together 35 countries and aims to demonstrate "convergence" between the United States, European countries, and Ukraine on "practical mechanisms" for security guarantees for Ukraine.

The French Presidency expects the leaders to commit to a shared vision regarding "mechanisms for a future ceasefire" between Ukraine and Russia, and regarding the response in the event of any violation, in addition to the principle of "deploying a multinational force" to "reassure Ukraine" within the framework of a potential political agreement.

Twenty-seven heads of state or government, mostly from Europe, are expected to attend the meeting in the French capital.

The United States will participate in person for the first time in a meeting of this coalition, which was launched by France and UK in the spring. US envoys Steve Wittkopf and Jared Kushner will be in attendance.

Diplomatic sources reported that the meeting will also include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. (QNA)
