Doha, January 04 (QNA) - A Qatari refereeing team will take part in officiating matches of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, which will be held in Saudi Arabia from January 6 to 24.

The Qatari officiating team comprises Abdullah Al Adhba as referee, Khaled Aayed and Jomaa Al Borsheid as assistant referees, and Khamis Al Marri as Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

This participation underscores the Asian Football Confederation’s confidence in Qatari refereeing officials, who have proven their competence by officiating numerous regional, continental, and international tournaments.

The tournament will feature 16 national teams. Group A includes Saudi Arabia (hosts), Vietnam, Jordan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Group B comprises Qatar, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and Syria. Group C includes Uzbekistan, South Korea, Iran, and Lebanon, while Group D features Iraq, Australia, Thailand, and China. (QNA)
