Doha, January 28 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber held a meeting on Wednesday with a business delegation from the Republic of India and discussed trade and economic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, opportunities for collaboration and partnerships between the Qatari and Indian business communities, and key sectors offering potential for cooperation between companies from both sides.

The Qatari side was led by Qatar Chamber Second Vice-Chairman Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba, while the Indian delegation was headed by Co-Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Committee at PHDCCI, Anuj Khanna.

In his remarks, Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba praised the strong relations between Qatar and India at all levels, particularly in the trade and economic fields. He noted that India is one of Qatar's key trading partners, with bilateral trade reaching QAR 47 billion in 2024.

He highlighted the wide range of opportunities available to the business sectors in both countries, calling on Qatari and Indian businessmen to explore new areas of cooperation and benefit from Qatar's attractive investment environment, which features advanced infrastructure, free zones offering numerous incentives to investors, and supportive business legislation.

For his part, Anuj Khanna said that Qatar is a leading investment destination and a gateway for Indian investors to the markets of the Middle East and Africa, affirming that the Indian business community has strong confidence in Qatar thanks to its leading legislation and investment incentives.

He also affirmed the interest of PHDCCI members in learning about the investment opportunities available in Qatar and forming partnerships with their Qatari counterparts, noting that this was their second visit to Qatar Chamber within six months, reflecting the strong interest in enhancing cooperation with the Qatari business sector.

Khanna called on Qatari investors to invest in India, particularly in the real estate sector, which offers numerous incentives, stressing PHDCCI's readiness to cooperate with Qatari business owners interested in investing in India. (QNA)
