Ramallah, January 22 (QNA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva the latest political developments in Palestine and the region in a phone call on Thursday.

The two presidents also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between their countries.

Abbas thanked the Brazilian president for Brazil's consistent political stances in international forums and its support for the Palestinian people's rights to freedom and independence, in accordance with international law, as well as its support for peace, stability, and security in the region.
