Cairo, January 18 (QNA) - The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty; Greece, George Gerapetritis; and Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos held political consultations in a meeting on Sunday, within the framework of their Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism.

In a statement, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said that the meeting addressed regional and international issues of common concern, including developments related to the Palestinian cause, the forthcoming steps in US President Donald Trump's plan as it enters its second phase, and the Palestinian technocratic committee commences its work following the announcement of its formation.

Discussions also covered the situations in Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia.

During the meeting, participants stressed the need to preserve states' unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, ensure the security of the Red Sea, and underscore the importance of strengthening coordination and joint cooperation to address challenges and support efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability regionally and internationally.

Abdelatty, Gerapetritis, and Kombos agreed to continue consultations on issues of common concern in a manner that serves the interests of their countries, particularly in the Eastern Mediterranean.

They emphasized the importance of coordinating positions and enhancing cooperation to achieve shared interests and promote security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region. (QNA)
