Kuwait, January 19 (QNA) - The fifth Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant, Cellular, and Gene Therapy Conference hosted by Kuwait Kicked off on Monday.
The two-day event convenes a contingent of international and regional experts, serving as a strategic platform for sharing the latest research and developments in stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, and gene therapy, as well as connecting theoretical knowledge with clinical applications to directly enhance patient outcomes and quality of life.
The conference showcases over 40 professional lectures delivered by over 35 global and regional speakers from leading reference centers and hospitals across Europe, the United States, the United Kingdom, and GCC states.
The sessions cover a wide array of subjects, including the latest advancements in CAR-T therapy for children, progress in the production of T-cell immunotherapies and cellular treatments, cutting-edge innovations in gene therapy for genetic and immune disorders, stem cell transplantation strategies for non-malignant conditions, as well as the management of post-transplant complications and complex clinical cases.
In addition, the conference showcases a series of specialized practical workshops designed to develop practical skills, transfer expertise, and enhance rapid diagnostic capabilities and pediatric medical simulation.
Overall, stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy represent advanced medical procedures used to replace damaged or diseased cells with healthy, proliferative, and differentiable stem cells, aiming to treat hematological disorders (such as leukemia), immune system disorders, and certain degenerative diseases.
