5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southwest China
Beijing, January 19 (QNA) - A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Zhaotong City in Yunnan Province, southwest China, on Monday.
The China Earthquake Administration reported that the earthquake occurred in Qiaojia County at a depth of 10 kilometers, and residents of several neighboring counties felt strong tremors.
It added that there have been no reports of casualties so far.
Last December, a 5 magnitude earthquake struck Zunyi County in Nagqu City, Xicang Autonomous Region, southwest China.
China is frequently struck by earthquakes and strong tremors, especially in the mountainous areas of the west of the country. (QNA)
