Beijing, January 16 (QNA) - Chinese President Xi Jinping met with HE Prime Minister of Canada, who is currently visiting Beijing.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance the partnership between the two countries and advance bilateral relations.

The Chinese President said that the previous meeting between the two leaders in October was positive for ties. He added that, since then, both sides held meetings over how to restart cooperation in various fields. 

He stressed that stable and healthy ties between China and Canada is in the interest of both countries, and help bolster regional and international peace and prosperity.

He said China was ready to cooperate with Canada, within the framework of the G-20 and the United Nations, to address global challenges.
