Cairo, January 13 (QNA) - Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed in a phone call on Tuesday with his German counterpart Johann Wadephul the latest developments in the region, foremost among them the situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as ways to enhance bilateral relations.

Abdelatty emphasized, during the call, the importance of moving to the second phase of the US plan regarding the Gaza Strip, announcing the formation of a temporary Palestinian technocratic committee to manage the daily affairs of citizens in the enclave, the establishment of an International Stabilization Force in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and ensuring continued humanitarian access, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a statement.

Abdelatty further reiterated that the sole guarantor of stability in the region is achieving a political settlement based on international legitimacy resolutions, establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. (QNA)
