Israel Continues Offensives on Southern Lebanon
Beirut, January 11 (QNA) - Israel on Sunday continued its offensives in southern Lebanon, with field sources reportedly affirming that Israeli bombers conducted a series of aerial raids targeting Rihaneh and Al‑Mahmoudiyah Heights.
An Israeli drone dropped two sonic devices over the Hayy Karakzan neighborhood in the town of Mays Al‑Jabal and Ain Al‑Ashwaq Square in the town of Kfarkila, the sources said, noting the discovery of an Israeli drone that fell in the town of Aita ash‑Shaab.
On Oct. 27, 2024, a ceasefire deal took effect in southern Lebanon, under which Israeli forces were required to withdraw from border villages and towns within 60 days.
Subsequently, the Lebanese government agreed to extend the deadline until Feb. 18. However, the occupation army has remained at five points and continues to carry out violations, with more than 7,000 air intrusions and over 2,400 military activities reported in the UNIFIL operational area in southern Lebanon since last November.
