Paris, September 07 (QNA) - Qatar SC has announced the signing of French defender Presnel Kimpembe from Paris Saint-Germain to join the club starting from the current season.

In a statement on its official account on X Platform, Qatar SC reported that Kimpembe has officially joined the club and that a deal has been signed with him.

Accordingly, Qatar SC looks forward to extending its dominant start to the new season, having blasted out of the gate with wins in all three of its Qatari league matches, racking up a perfect nine points and sharing the top spot with Al Shamal SC.

A statement by Paris Saint-Germain on its official website confirmed Kimpembe's transfer to Qatar SC, without giving any details regarding the contract or its duration.

The statement noted that Kimpembe, a product of PSG's academy, leaves the club after a 20-year career, during which he appeared in 241 matches for the first team.

Kimpembe began his football career with Eragny before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2005 at the age of 10. He progressed through the youth ranks, played in the UEFA Youth League in 2013, and helped his team reach the quarterfinals.

He made his first-team debut in 2014 under coach Laurent Blanc in the French Super Cup against Guingamp, winning his first title with the club, and later won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France. (QNA)
