Qatar to Host Final Three Matches of FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025
Doha, September 28 (QNA) – The Local Organizing Committee for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025, in coordination with FIFA, has announced that Qatar will host the final three matches of the prestigious annual tournament to crown the world's best football club.
In an official statement today, the committee confirmed that this major sporting event adds further momentum to Qatar's growing calendar of international football competitions. Taking place this December in Doha, the matches will feature high-stakes clashes for three titles: the Copa de las Americas Derby, the Challenge Cup, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
The final three fixtures are scheduled as follows:
- December 10: Cruz Azul of Mexico (2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup winner) face off against the 2025 Copa Libertadores champion.
- December 13: The winner of that match will meet Pyramids FC of Egypt, the CAF Champions League 2025 winner.
- December 17: The final will feature Paris Saint-Germain (2025 UEFA Champions League winner) against the winner of the December 13 clash, to determine the world's top club.
This marks the fourth time Qatar has hosted the annual club competition, following successful editions in 2019, 2020, and most recently in 2024, when Real Madrid claimed the title at Lusail Stadium — the same venue that hosted the iconic FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 final.
The tournament reinforces Qatar's ongoing role as a global hub for elite football, offering world-class infrastructure and organization for top-tier international events. (QNA)
