Al Sharaa: Syria Is Capable of Resolving Its Problems, Becoming Part of Global Order
New York, September 22 (QNA) - Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa said his country is capable of resolving its problems and becoming part of the global order, and that it has inherited many turmoils over the past 60 years.
This came during Al Sharaa's dialogue with former CIA David Petraeus during the Concordia Summit held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The Syrian President stressed that the battle to liberate Syria was fought with minimal losses, adding that Syria cannot solve its problems all at once, but rather gradually.
Al Sharaa said that there are converging interests today between Syria, the West, and the United States, noting that Syria needs a new lease on life.
He continued to say that President Donald Trump lifted the sanctions on it, but Congress must do more to lift them permanently.
He emphasized that the priority now is to achieve security and stability in Syria by uniting the Syrian people and territories and promoting economic development.
He added that his country rejected the principle of quotas and adopted the principle of partnership in forming the government.
He added that Israel has carried out numerous attacks on Syria and continues to occupy the Golan Heights and penetrate Syrian territory, but Syria is seeking to avoid war because it is in a construction phase. (QNA)
