Doha, August 06 (QNA) - Qatar’s national billiards team player, Ali Al Obaidli, has concluded his preparations for participation in the 2025 World Games, which are set to kick off Thursday, in Chengdu, China.

The games will run until August 17 and will feature athletes from around the globe competing across several sports, including billiards.

The World Games will include 34 sports, 60 disciplines, and 256 medal events.

Al Obaidli prepared for the tournament through an intensive local training camp held at the headquarters of the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation, alongside other national team players and under the supervision of his British coach, Michael Georgiou.

The Qatari player departed Doha with his coach, en route to China, ahead of a competition expected to showcase some of the world’s elite billiards players.

Al Obaidli has earned multiple international and Asian titles in both billiards and snooker, most notably clinching the individual World Snooker Championship in 2023. (QNA)
