LoginSecurity Member Killed in Suicide Attack Targeting Checkpoint Eastern Syria
Damascus, August 22 (QNA) - A member of the internal security forces was killed Friday in a suicide attack targeting the "Siyasiya" checkpoint in the city of Al Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.
Security sources reported that two ISIS militants carried out the attack on the checkpoint, confirming that one of them was killed by fire from security personnel present at the scene. However, the other blew himself up, killing the security officer and triggering an explosion near the checkpoint.
The same sources confirmed that the relevant authorities are continuing to pursue remnants of the organization and track their movements in the area. (QNA)
