Doha, August 10 (QNA) - Al-Ahli Club announced today the signing of Dutch striker Michel Vlap for three seasons, coming from FC Twente Enschede, a Dutch Premier League club.

Al-Ahli stated in a statement on its website that Vlap, 28, signed a contract binding him to the first team until the summer of 2028. This is part of the club's plan to strengthen its ranks with distinguished professionals who will contribute to its progress during the 2025-2026 sports season.

The statement added that the signing of Vlap was based on a technical vision based on the team's needs in the offensive aspect, in preparation for the next phase, during which Al-Ahli will participate in local competitions (the league, the Emir's Cup, and the Qatar Stars Cup), and represent Qatari football in the AFC Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

Michel Vlap is a player who has represented the Netherlands under-19 and under-21 national teams, in addition to representing the senior team in the UEFA Nations League in two previous editions (2023 and 2025). He also previously played for Belgian club Anderlecht for three seasons, during which he played several matches in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

Al-Ahli will begin the 2025-26 season next Thursday against Al Shamal in the first round of the Qatar Football League (Doha Bank Stars League). (QNA)
