Doha, July 08 (QNA) - The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) revealed Tuesday the official program for the 2025–2026 racing season, set to run from October 2025 to April 2026.

This comes as part of QREC's strategy to solidify Qatar's position as a leading destination for horse racing and the organization of major events in line with the highest international standards.

The Club explained that the program will kick off with the Al Ghariyah Cup on October 15, 2025, and will wrap up with the Season Final Trophy on April 16, 2026, both held at Al Rayyan racecourse.

To support the development of equestrian and promote competitive spirit, the 2025–2026 season will feature 70 diverse races, covering various grades and classifications, and will allow for wide participation from both purebred Arabian and thoroughbred horses, whether locally bred or from abroad.

The 2025–2026 season is regarded as one of the most distinguished, highlighted by the HH The Amir Sword Festival, a four-day event in February 2026, renowned for its exceptional organization and strong public attendance.

The 2025–2026 racing season will feature notable races such as the Qatar Gold Sword and Trophy, the Qatar Derby, and the Late Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammed Bin Thani Trophy, in addition to internationally themed races that attract both regional and global attention. (QNA)
