WhatsApp Rolls out Feature to Hold Real-Time Voice Chat with Meta AI
Washington, July 27 (QNA) - WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is testing a new feature that enables users to hold real-time voice chats with Meta AI assistant in the latest beta update for Android (version 2.25.21.21).
According to WABetaInfo, a website specializing in WhatsApp updates, the new feature enables users to have real-time voice chats with Meta AI, in call-like sessions.
This feature is ideal for people who prefer voice interactions over text messages or want to use AI hands-free while multitasking.
Users can start a voice session by tapping the waveform icon present in the Meta AI screen at the Chats tab, or directly from the Calls tab.
An Important feature in this update is that users can leave WhatsApp and open other apps like Notes or Chrome without interrupting the conversation.
Users can mute the microphone, end the session, or switch back to text chat at any time. When the microphone is in use, a green privacy light appears on Android to indicate that the mic is active. Importantly, sessions are never started automatically. The user must activate them manually. (QNA)
