Tokyo, May 26 (QNA) - Represented by the KINDI Center for Computing Research and the Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC), Qatar University (QU) participated in the Qatar-Japan Research Forum, held over two days at the Qatar Pavilion during Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.

The forum served as a distinguished platform, bringing together leading researchers, academics, and innovators from Qatar and Japan.

It aimed to foster bilateral cooperation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and explore joint opportunities in science and technology, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Automation.

QU showcased its contributions through two of its prominent research centers.

The KINDI Center, a core research hub at the university, is dedicated to advancing cutting-edge technologies in computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Also participating was the Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC) - an innovation center operating under the umbrella of QU.

QMIC acts independently as a bridge between academic research and industry applications, focusing on the development and deployment of smart mobility systems and smart city platforms to support national strategies and address regional challenges.

The forum featured a series of panel discussions and technical sessions, with participation from distinguished Qatar University faculty members, including Chief Strategy and Development Officer at QU Dr. Muna Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of QMIC and Director of the KINDI Center Dr. Mohammed Al Sada, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Deputy Director of the KINDI Center Dr. Faisal Al-Jaber, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Engineering Dr. Osama Halabi, and Director of Strategic Partnerships and Outreach at QMIC Omar Al Jaber.

The event also welcomed prominent Japanese experts and highlighted pioneering case studies in technological innovation, offering valuable opportunities to forge future collaborations between the two nations.

QU's participation in this high-profile international event underscores the strategic importance of the Qatar-Japan Research Forum as a platform to strengthen scientific ties between the two leaders in research and innovation.

The forum provided a unique opportunity for the university to showcase its achievements in AI and robotics and to engage with leading research and industrial institutions in Japan.

This participation is a milestone in the university's efforts to position itself as a hub for knowledge and innovation in the region.

It reaffirms its strong commitment to supporting Qatar's national research and development agenda and contributing effectively to global solutions through sustainable strategic partnerships. (QNA)
