Doha, May 11 (QNA) - The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has unveiled the calendar for the forthcoming 2025-2026 football season, which is set to encompass a broad array of domestic and international competitions involving both clubs and national teams.

The new season is slated to commence on Aug. 14, 2025, with the Qatar Stars League marking the official kickoff, while first division clubs are slated to begin training on Jul. 1 in preparation for the competitive calendar.

In addition, QFA revealed four international breaks for the 2025–2026 season, aligned with the FIFA International Match Calendar, in light of national team obligations across various international engagements.

The designated international windows will run from Sept. 1 to 9, 2025, Oct. 6 to 14, Nov.10 to 18, and March 23 to 31, 2026, respectively. These breaks enable domestic league match schedules to pause, affording national players the opportunity to fulfill their international duties, whether in qualifiers, friendly matches, or other sanctioned competitions, without overlap or scheduling conflicts.

QFA highlighted that the season calendar was meticulously crafted to take into account the obligations of the national teams and the commitments of local clubs, thereby ensuring a fully integrated and competitive season both on the technical and organizational fronts.

The overall match schedule was coordinated through joint consultative meetings between the competitions committee and the concerned stakeholders. (QNA)
