Turkish President: Israeli Attacks on Syria and Lebanon Pose Direct Threat to Turkiye
Ankara, June 10 (QNA) - The Israeli attacks on Syria and Lebanon have started posing a direct threat to Turkiye, said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday.
Erdogan noted that Israeli occupation is persistently pursuing its cunning policies to stoke strife, instability, and tension in the Eastern Mediterranean region and multiple regions across Africa.
He stressed that since its establishment and even today, the Israeli occupation keeps imperiling the stability and peace in the region, pointing to the methodical crimes and genocide it commits in front of the entire world.
The international community doesn't show the required reaction to the policies pursued by the Israeli occupation, Erdogan stressed, adding that the occupation doesn't know limits and ethos and has dared more due to the persistent international silence over its crimes.
Erdogan further emphasized that Syria and Lebanon are independent nations and friends of Turkiye, identical twins and brothers of Turkiye, he said, adding that Turkiye's security starts from Aleppo, Damascus, and Beirut.
The Israeli occupation, Erdogan recalled, is carrying out measures in Cyprus with the intention of fomenting strife and vandalism.
If the rights of Turkiye and Turkish Cyprus are infringed upon, the response would be crystal clear and very strong, Erdogan said in a warning to the occupation, noting that the crimes and attacks that started in Gaza and spilled over into Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean had a domino impact on the whole world.
Erdogan further explained that these crimes and Israeli antics have become global issues and are neither domestic nor limited to the region only. (QNA)
