UN to Dispatch Mission to Lebanon to Investigate Human Rights Abuses
Geneva, June 10 (QNA) - United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk announced that he will dispatch a mission to Lebanon to investigate potential violations of human rights since the flare-up of war with Israel in March.
In press remarks on Wednesday, Turk said he had agreed with the government of Lebanon to send an independent evaluation mission to Lebanon.
Turk asserted that soon he will deploy a team to collect information and evidence on the alleged violations of international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and relevant laws the parties to the conflict have perpetrated in Lebanon since March 2. (QNA)
