FIBA Asia Cup Saudi Arabia 2025 Draw Places Qatar in Group A

Riyadh, April 08 (QNA) - The FIBA Asia Cup Saudi Arabia 2025 draw was conducted Tuesday, determining the groups of the 31st edition of the event, running from August 5 to 17.

Held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the draw ceremony was attended by prominent Asian basketball figures and the representatives of the qualifying teams.

The Groups are as follows: Group A: Qatar, Australia, Korea, Lebanon; Group B: Guam, Japan, Syria, Iran; Group C: China, Jordan, India, Saudi Arabia; and Group D: Chinese Taipei, New Zealand, Iraq, Philippines In this context, Qatar Basketball Federation Secretary-General, Saadoun Al Kuwari expressed his strong confidence in Qatar's ability to deliver a strong performance in the tournament and showcase the reputable Qatari basketball despite Group A's challenging make-up.

The Qatar Basketball Federation Secretary-General also thanked Saudi Arabia for organizing this important continental event and praised both the Saudi and Asian basketball federations for their significant efforts in organizing the draw event in such an excellent manner.

During the Group Phase, the teams will play against each other in a single-round robin format. The first-placed teams of each group will qualify directly to the Quarter-Finals. The second- and third-placed teams in each group will play in a Qualification to Quarter-Finals round.

The Final Phase of the competition will proceed from the Quarter-Finals onward with a single-elimination format in place. (QNA)
