Qatar Chamber Explores Enhancing Economic Ties With Bosnia and Herzegovina

Doha, April 15 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber (QC) participated on Tuesday, in a webinar titled "Investment and Trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina," which featured several government bodies and private institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The webinar focused on enhancing economic and commercial relations between the two countries and explored the investment climate and opportunities available in both nations.

Director of Research and Studies Department, Noora Al Awlan represented Qatar Chamber at the webinar.

In her remarks, Al Awlan praised relations between Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that the webinar provided a valuable platform to deepen understanding of the potential for expanding bilateral trade relations and investment partnerships.

The Director of Research and Studies Department at QC underscored that bilateral trade reached QAR 72 million last year, indicating that there is significant room for further growth in economic cooperation, especially through collaborations between the private sectors of both countries.

She underscored the Chamber's keenness to support cooperation between companies from both sides and encouraged Qatari investors to explore the investment climate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which possesses a strategic location and a wealth of untapped potential.

For his part, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dino Selimovic said that the webinar is part of the Ministry’s interest to strengthen economic and commercial cooperation and promote investment climate and opportunities with friendly countries.

Selimovic highlighted his country's strong ties with Qatar and the promising sectors for cooperation with Qatari investors such as industry, agriculture, food security, the halal industry, infrastructure, and tourism among others.

In turn, Executive Director for Promotion and Analysis at Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), Slavica Korica provided an overview of FIPA and its services to investors.

Korica pointed out that Qatar is one of the most important investors in her country, with many Qatari companies present in different sectors of the Bosnian market. (QNA)
