Africa Cup of Nations: Algeria, Burkina Faso Defeat Equatorial Guinea, Sudan in Third Round

Rabat, December 31 (QNA) – The Algerian national team defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-1 in their match on Wednesday, the third and final round of Group E in the Africa Cup of Nations currently being held in Morocco.

Algeria's goals were scored by Zinedine Belaid, Fares Chaibi, and Ibrahim Maza, while Emilio Nsue scored Equatorial Guinea's lone goal.

Algeria finished top of Group E with nine points (a perfect record), while Equatorial Guinea remained without any points.

In another match, Burkina Faso defeated Sudan 2-0 in their Group E encounter.

Lassina Traore and Arsene Kouassi scored Burkina Faso's goals, bringing their total to six points in second place, while Sudan remained on three points in third place.

Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Sudan had already secured their places in the Round of 16 before today's matches.

Algeria will face DR Congo in the Round of 16, while Sudan will play Senegal. Burkina Faso will play the winner of Group F, whose third round of matches will be played later. (QNA)
