Egypt, Oman Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional and International Developments
Cairo, December 29 (QNA) - Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Monday with his Omani counterpart Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, where they discussed regional and international developments of common interest.
In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Abdelatty confirmed the convergence of views between the two countries regarding various regional and international issues, noting the mutual keenness to raise the level of bilateral cooperation and build on the tangible progress achieved during the past period.
Regarding developments in the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Foreign Minister addressed Egypt's efforts to consolidate and sustain the ceasefire, and to implement the subsequent requirements of US President Donald Trump's plan, including ensuring the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid and creating conditions for early recovery and reconstruction. He stressed the rejection of any infringement on the unity of Palestinian territories or undermining the chances of a political settlement.
Regarding developments in Yemen, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's support for Yemen's unity, territorial integrity, and the preservation of national state institutions.
Regarding the situation in the Horn of Africa, the Egyptian Foreign Minister affirmed the complete rejection of any unilateral steps that would undermine the sovereignty and unity of Somalia, stressing support for the legitimate Somali state institutions, respect for the principles of international law and the UN Charter, and the need to preserve the pillars of stability in the region.
