Jerusalem Governorate Reports Six Deaths, 419 Arrests Since Early 2026
Occupied Jerusalem, April 02 (QNA) - The Jerusalem Governorate announced on Thursday that six Palestinians were martyred in Jerusalem during the first quarter of this year.
In a statement, the governorate reported 9,373 Israeli settlers entered Al-Aqsa Mosque, which has been closed by Israeli forces since February 28. It highlighted the escalation of systematic aggression by Israeli occupation forces and settlers, amid a deliberate environment of impunity and lack of accountability.
It documented 419 cases of Palestinian arrests, including 10 children and seven women, as part of a repressive policy involving home raids, detentions at checkpoints and roads, and the use of force and intimidation.
The statement also noted 153 settler attacks during the first quarter, in a coordinated escalation targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque, Bedouin communities, private property, and Islamic and Christian holy sites, resulting in the deaths of Palestinians in Jerusalem.
It emphasized that the ongoing closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre represents one of the most dangerous aspects of Israeli occupation policies in Jerusalem, asserting that such measures are no longer temporary security procedures but have become a systematic tool to reshape the existing reality in the occupied city.
