Africa Cup of Nations: Tunisia Qualify for Round of 16 after Draw with Tanzania

Rabat, December 30 (QNA) - The Tunisian national team qualified for the Round of 16 of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, being held in Morocco, after a 1-1 draw with Tanzania Tuesday in the final match of Group C.

Tunisia took the lead through Ismail Gharbi in the 43rd minute from a penalty kick, while Tanzania equalized through Faye Tutu in the 48th minute.

With this result, Tunisia finished second in Group C with 4 points, behind Nigeria, who qualified with a perfect record after defeating Uganda 3-1 to top the group with 9 points.

Tunisia will face Mali, the runner-up of Group A, next Saturday. Tanzania, with 2 points from two draws, qualified for the Round of 16 and will face hosts Morocco. (QNA)
