Doha, December 03 (QNA) - Syria's coach Jose Lana affirmed the difficulty of tomorrow's match against Qatar, which will take place at Khalifa International Stadium, as part of the second round of Group A competitions in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
In a pre-match press conference, Lana said that final preparations today will be indicative of how things will unfold in tomorrow's match, adding that the team is facing some difficulties with a few players, who have not played any match for several months.
Syria's coach expressed pride in his players for appearing in the manner they did.
Lana said that he could not reveal his team's strategy for tomorrow's match, yet he added that the team should preferably maintain possession of the ball, despite having to resort to defense sometimes.
He pointed out that Syria's goal is to be in a good position and play in a balanced way across all lines.
Lana praised goalkeeper Elias Hadaya, who recently joined the national team from Norway, for his skills, adding that he is one of the team's best goalkeepers and that his participation follows consultation with the assistant coaching staff.
Syria's coach stressed that the Qatari national team has a good caliber of players, noting that coach Lopetegui and his staff managed to achieve an excellent result by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Lana said that team Qatar is a strong and tough opponent, yet added that in football, anything is possible. (QNA)
