Doha, December 02 (QNA) - Reigning champion of the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 Algeria will kick off their FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 campaign tomorrow against Sudan at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in the first round of Group D matches.

The match is considered one of the toughest in the group, which is also comprised of Bahrain and Iraq.

Both Sudan and Algeria will aim to start their tournament campaigns with a valuable three points to boost their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.

Reigning champions Algeria aim to retain the championship title when it begins its journey in the 2025 edition, in an effort to present a good image in one of the most prominent Arab tournaments, which witnesses the participation of elite national teams under FIFA's umbrella.

Algeria will be among the top contenders for the title of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 thanks to the balanced and solid performance it has consistently delivered in continental and regional competitions, and the great harmony among its players.

Meanwhile, Sudan enters the tournament with high morale after its 2-1 victory last week against Lebanon in the tournament play-off.

Sudan is also counting on defensive discipline and quick attacking runs to surprise their Algerian counterparts and achieve a perfect start in the group, which is considered one of the toughest in the tournament.

With Iraq and Bahrain in the same group, each team is aiming for a strong start that will give them confidence for the rest of the tournament. The points from tomorrow's opening match between Algeria and Sudan will be extremely important for both sides, as they may determine which team qualifies early on. (QNA)
